Registration is now open for the FGDN Winter Conference 2012. The conference theme is Making It Count: Using Grants To Support The New Education Agenda. Join K-12 grant professionals from all across Florida to consult with leaders from the U.S. Department of Education, the U.S. Bureau of the Census, the College Board, and the Florida Department of Education.
The main conference events will be held February 9 and 10, 2012 in Lakeland. There is also a Race to the Top reception planned for the evening of February 8th.
This conference will help new and experienced grant developers better serve their schools and school districts in implementing Race to the Top, understanding the state and federal legislative and funding outlook, and using powerful new tools and resources to make grant proposals and grant management more effective.

The conference hotel listed on the registration form is The Hampton Inn & Suites at 3630 Lakeside Village Blvd, Lakeland, Florida 33803. The Florida Grant Developers Network K-12 will hold its Annual Fall Forum with the Florida Department of Education in Tallahassee on Friday September 23, 2011. This intensive one-day forum will provide Network members and guests with an opportunity to meet face-to-face with the FDOE officials who manage key statewide grant programs. The Forum will provide the membership with updates on a variety of grant programs, the latest information from the Florida Legislature, and report on policy and program changes that could affect districts in the coming year.
The FGDN Board of Directors will participate in a pre-conference meeting from noon to 5:00 on Thursday, September 22, 2011 in Room 1706 of the Florida Department of Education’s Turlington Building. Board members and officers are required to attend. Members who wish to attend this optional meeting may contact Teresa Douglas Shipley to make arrangements.

Our planned topics include:
The Network has a proud history of connecting the leading grant professionals from all over Florida and providing them with face-to-face discussions with local, state, and national authorities on critical topics in grants development, management, and evaluation. This conference’s invited speakers include the Superintendent of Hillsborough Public Schools, key administrators from the Florida State Department of Education, and high-performing grant professionals from the school districts of Hillsborough, Lee, Orange, and Polk counties.
This conference will be of interest to school district leaders with responsibility for grants, federal projects, legislative affairs, and policy and program development.
